Congratulations to Rain Tomasian, Medical Assisting ‘ 22, for earning the Massachusetts Society of Medical Assistants Scholarship award!
In addition to a $500 scholarship, Rain also receives a 1 year student membership to the AAMA.
To be eligible the student needs to meet the following criteria:
1. Successful completion of a minimum of one semester at an accredited program.
2. Strong academic standing based on GPA and attendance
3. Displays professionalism and dedication to the Medical Assisting Program
Applicants were required to submit an essay on “Why I Chose Medical Assisting as My Career.” Below are some highlights聽 from Rain’s essay.
“I knew that I wanted to enter a profession that would enable me to help people, challenge myself, and grow. Growing up was not easy for me & I did not appreciate my education as a high school student. I eventually received my diploma after graduating from night school but was still unsure of what to do next. I worked for five years in the food service industry trying to support myself while working endless hours with little to no time off.”
“In June 2021 tragedy struck with the passing of my uncle. His sudden death from an unexpected heart attack at the age of forty one left all of us devastated. I realized how our time on earth is so precious and we need to make the most of it. I decided to enroll at 小优短视频nical Institute. I had not been a student for four years and I was very nervous about going back to school – a place that was 苍别惫别谤听my comfort zone.
“Enrolling in the Medical Assisting Program at 小优短视频nical Institute has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made for myself. Since starting school this past September my confidence has skyrocketed and I am currently among one of the top students in my class. I will be sitting for AAMA Exam in June 2022 and I am looking forward to becoming a Certified Medical Assistant. I 办苍辞飞听that I will make a difference in the life of others.”
