Exciting things have been happening in the classroom and lab of the full-time Medical Assisting Program. Thus far, the students have learned anatomy & terminology,聽 infection control,聽 professional patient interaction, law & ethics, and medication safety. Their most recent time in the lab has been focused on vital signs such as blood pressure, height, weight, pulse and temperature; they have just begun patient testing and procedures such as peak flow pulmonary testing,聽 pulse oximetry and throat swabs.
Throughout the year speakers are invited in to share valuable information with students. We’d like to thank Jodi Shuman-Capobianco who recently came to present on the topic of eating disorders & Katie Cabral, Class of 2019, who provided a realistic view of “a day in the life of a Medical Assistant”.
