Medical Assistants have the best of both worlds as they move in between patient care and and administrative tasks including: vital signs, CPR, injections, EKG, phlebotomy, taking patient histories, perform screening tests, billing, insurance & appointment scheduling. As a Medical Assistant you will work in ambulatory care settings like practices, clinics, and urgent care centers.
The STI Medical Assisting course work in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition, Medical Assistant Lab & Theory, as well as administrative courses, are a solid foundation for a health care career. While many graduates go on to enjoy long and rewarding careers as Medical Assistants, several use this as a spring board to a nursing career. Graduates are qualified to sit for the national Certified Medical Assistant exam sponsored by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). The job opportunities and expected growth is solid with the average salary in Massachusetts at approximately $40,000.

Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) : The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs is the largest programmatic accreditor of the health sciences professions.听 CAAHEP accredited programs are assessed on an ongoing basis to assure that they meet the Standards and Guidelines of each profession.
STI offers a full-time, day program that begins every September and a part-time, evening program that starts every January. .
