There is a lot of excitement in the Practical Nurse Program here at 小优短视频nical Institute! Our students are finally getting out to our agency partners for their clinical experiences. It has been a long year since the pandemic hit last March. Not only did faculty and students have to switch the way they teach and learn, by having classes move to remote learning, but the students鈥 clinical experiences were required to become virtual as well.
However, I am now very happy to say that the practical nurse program is finally able to get our students out to clinical for hands-on learning. We are very excited and fortunate to have two new clinical facilities who we have partnered with for the clinical rotations. Both our day and evening program have begun rotations at BayPointe Rehab and Skilled Care Center in Brockton. Our evening program has also just partnered with Sachem Center for Health & Rehabilitation in East Bridgewater.
While the virtual clinical experiences we have provided our students during this pandemic has been a valuable learning experience, nothing compares to having the students out in clinical settings so that they can actually apply what they are learning in the classroom by providing patient care to actual patients. It is so important for the students to care for patients because this is how they learn to make the connections and correlate the application of knowledge from the classroom to clinical practice.
What hasn鈥檛 changed since the pandemic, fortunately, is the clinical simulation component of the nursing courses here at STI. Under the guidance, and supervision of Mrs. Carol Miller, MSN, RN, who is a full-time faculty in the practical nurse program, students are afforded the opportunity to practice and refine their assessments and skills by participating in a simulated patient care scenario in our newly renovated simulation lab.
So, I would like to give a big thank you to our clinical partners in the community and also to our dedicated nursing faculty here at STI for helping to provide our students with an excellent education! And students鈥eep up the great work!

Accepting qualified students for the 10 month full-time day program that begins September 2021 and the 2 year part-time evening program that begins January 2022. Both programs fill well before their start time.
