The Evening Practical Nurse graduation ceremony took place on Tuesday, January 7th. Family and friends filled the audience, and STI faculty and staff recognized all students for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Graduate Angela Foti led the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a welcome introduction from Dr. Stephen Alves, Director of the Practical Nurse Program. In addition Pat Illsley, STI Director, Luis Lopes, Superintendent, and Stephen Udden, TI Subcommittee Chair addressed the future graduates and their accomplishments. Jocelyn Burgo was selected as Student Speaker and retired Practical Nurse Director Marybeth Pepin served as Guest Speaker.
Special recognition went to Karen Saber for Academic and Clinical Excellence as well as Pascale Vilmenay for Perfect Attendance throughout the two year program! The next part-time evening Practical Nurse Program will begin in January 2022. Applications will be accepted starting January 2021 and thirty-two students will be selected. Full-time applicants are encouraged to apply now for September 2020.
