On Friday, March 16th, STI’s Medical Assisting students received some excellent tips in preparation for their first day at externship. Members of the panel included:

Kathy Rego: former Surgical Practice Manager, Advisory Board member
Among the topics discussed were professionalism, confidentiality, and work ethic. Panelists聽 focused on the importance of providing a short cover letter to highlight relatable skills or situations/experiences not documented on the resume. They advised students to ask questions, be flexible, use their initiative, and always have a positive attitude!
