In addition to resume building, and as part of STI’s career preparation module, Cristina Barros works with classes聽on interviewing skills. After learning and reviewing what to expect, students role play as the employer and the applicant, and prepare various questions to ask and answer. At the end of each聽mock interview, there is a class discussion including thoughts, tips, and suggestions.
Another job readiness piece that students can take advantage of is the STI partnership with Dress for Success, located in Boston. This is a non-profit organization which helps women choose appropriate attire for job interviews. It’s聽a great opportunity and one that helps instill self confidence聽as students begin聽their job search.
